How the gift challenges overlay works
When the target is reached, it can keep counting, reset to zero, raise or double the target, or hide. Show one challenge on its own, several in a bar, or rotate between them, in 23 themes from Classic and Counter to Vial, Hourglass and Fuse.

What the gift challenges overlay does
Pick the Gift to Count
Count one gift, like Roses or Lions, for a targeted challenge, or leave it on All gifts to count everything your viewers send.
Targets That Move
When a challenge hits its target, keep counting, reset to zero, raise the target, double it, or hide the challenge.
Count Gifts or Coins
Count the number of gifts or their coin value, and show it as 18 / 50, 18, 36% or 32 left.
One, Several or a Rotator
Show a single challenge, line several up in a bar, or rotate through them, drawn as a progress bar, a progress ring or a single line of text.

Gift Challenges overlay: FAQ
What is a gift counter overlay?
A gift counter shows how many of a gift your viewers have sent during your TikTok Live, usually toward a target. In BetterTok this is Gift Challenges: pick a gift (or All gifts), set a target, and the overlay counts up in real time. There are 23 themes.
Can I count only specific gifts?
Yes. Pick the gift in the challenge settings, for example Roses for a '1000 roses' challenge. Leave it on All gifts to count every gift.
What happens when a challenge reaches its target?
You choose for each challenge: keep counting, reset to 0, raise the target, double the target, or hide it when it is done.
Can I run more than one challenge?
Yes. Each challenge can be its own overlay, or you can show several in one bar or rotate through them.
Can I customize the counter appearance?
Yes: the counter format, fonts, colors, outline and glow, the progress bar and its colors, the gift image size, the position and size, and the entry and exit animations, all from the BetterTok dashboard.
Is the gift counter free?
Yes, in three themes: a single challenge in Classic, Bare or Counter runs on the free plan. The Creator plan ($9.99 a month) adds the bar and rotator layouts and the other 20 themes.
