TikTok LIVE Chatbot
The BetterTok chatbot replies in your TikTok LIVE chat so you do not have to type the same thing all stream. It answers commands like !points, welcomes viewers when they first join, thanks people for gifts, follows and shares, and posts a reminder on a timer, all in words you write yourself.

What is a TikTok LIVE chatbot?
A TikTok LIVE chatbot posts messages in your LIVE chat when something happens: a viewer types a command, joins, follows, shares or sends a gift, or a set amount of time passes. It answers the questions you would otherwise answer over and over, and it thanks the people you would miss while you are busy with the stream.
BetterTok's chatbot is not an AI. Every reply is a message you wrote, with placeholders like %username% and %giftname% filled in from the event, so it sounds like you and says only what you meant it to. It comes with ready-made replies, all switched off until you turn on the ones you want.
The chatbot requires the BetterTok desktop app to send messages in your TikTok LIVE chat, so keep the app open while you are live. You can write the replies in the dashboard or in the app.
Works with the rest of BetterTok
The chatbot answers in the chat. These do the rest on stream.
Custom chat commands
Build a command in Actions & Events, such as !dance playing a sound, and give it a points price. The chatbot's command list shows it with that price.
Points leaderboard
Viewers check their points with !points, and a leaderboard on screen shows who is on top.
Gift alerts
Thank a gifter in the chat and on screen at the same time.
Text-to-speech
Have chat messages and gift messages read aloud on stream as well.
How to set up a TikTok LIVE chatbot
Set it up once, and it runs every time you go live with the desktop app open.
- 1
Connect your TikTok username
Sign up free and connect the account you go live with.
- 2
Install the desktop app
The chatbot needs the BetterTok desktop app to post in your LIVE chat. Sign in to it with the same BetterTok account.
- 3
Turn on the replies you want
Open the Chatbot page. The ready-made replies start switched off: turn on the ones you want and rewrite them in your own words.
- 4
Set cooldowns and who can use them
Give each reply a cooldown so it cannot flood the chat, and choose who can trigger a command: everyone, subscribers, moderators or viewers you name.
- 5
Go live
Keep the desktop app open while you are live. Timed messages start when your stream does.
Keeping the chatbot welcome in your chat
A chatbot people do not tune out usually has these:
- ✓Short replies that answer the question
- ✓A cooldown on every command
- ✓Timed messages spaced well apart
- ✓Thank-yous that use the viewer's name
- ✓One !help that points to everything
- ✓Nothing in a reply you would not say yourself
The chatbot already holds back where it matters: it thanks a follow or a share once per viewer per stream, and it welcomes each viewer once, so someone who leaves and comes back is not greeted twice.
Replies you can turn on
Commands.!help, a list of your chat commands with their points price, !points for a viewer's points, level and rank, and !give for sending points to another viewer.
Events.A thank-you for every gift with the gift's name and count, a welcome the first time a viewer joins the stream, a thank-you for a follow or a share once per viewer per stream, and a thank-you for every subscription.
Points. A message when a viewer reaches a new level, and replies for the points wheel: a win, a miss, the wait until the next spin, or not enough points to spin.
Timed messages. A message posted on a fixed interval while you are live, such as a reminder to follow or to type !help.
Placeholders
A reply can include placeholders that are filled in when it is sent: %username% and %nickname% for the viewer; %giftname%, %giftcount% and %diamonds% for a gift; %points%, %level% and %rank% for a viewer's points; %amount% and %destination% for a points transfer. {random:1-10} picks a number in a range, and {choice:a|b|c} picks one of your options, so a reply does not read the same every time.
TikTok LIVE Chatbot: FAQ
What can a TikTok LIVE chatbot do?
BetterTok's chatbot answers chat commands such as !help, !points and !give, lists your custom commands with their points price, welcomes viewers the first time they join a stream, thanks viewers for gifts, follows, shares and subscriptions, announces level-ups and posts timed messages while you are live.
How do I add a chatbot to my TikTok LIVE?
Connect your TikTok username in BetterTok, install the desktop app, then open the Chatbot page and turn on the replies you want. Each one comes with ready-made text you can rewrite. Keep the desktop app open while you are live.
Does the chatbot use AI?
No. Every reply is text you wrote, with placeholders such as %username% filled in from the event. It never posts anything you did not write.
Do I need the desktop app for the chatbot?
Yes. The chatbot requires the BetterTok desktop app to send messages in your TikTok LIVE chat, so the app has to be open while you are live. You can write the replies in the dashboard or in the app.
How do I stop the chatbot from spamming my chat?
Give every reply a cooldown, and limit each command to everyone, subscribers, moderators or viewers you name. Follow and share thank-yous go out once per viewer per stream and the welcome once per viewer, so a busy stream does not fill up with bot messages.
Can the chatbot welcome new viewers?
Yes. Turn on the welcome reply and it greets each viewer by name the first time they join your stream. It does not greet the same viewer again during that stream.
Let the chatbot handle the repeats
Commands, welcomes, thank-yous and timed messages in your TikTok LIVE chat, in your own words.
