What is TikTok LIVE OBS control?
TikTok LIVE OBS control means your live events change OBS itself, not only what is drawn on top of it. An overlay is a browser source sitting inside a scene. OBS control works a level up: it switches the scene, shows or hides a source, and starts or stops recording.
Each of these is a step in an Actions & Events rule. A scene change can stay, or last for the action's duration and then switch back, so a gift can send viewers to your pet cam for ten seconds and bring them back without you touching anything.
BetterTok connects to OBS from your dashboard or the desktop app, so one of them has to be open while you stream.

How to connect OBS to TikTok LIVE
Turn on the WebSocket server in OBS
In OBS, open Tools, then WebSocket Server Settings. Turn the server on and copy the password.
Connect it to BetterTok
In the web dashboard, open Actions, then the Integrations tab. In the desktop app, open Actions, then the OBS tab. If OBS runs on this computer, keep localhost and port 4455, paste the password and press Connect.
Save it with auto-connect on
Turn on auto-connect and press Save. OBS then links up every time you open BetterTok. While it is not linked, OBS steps do nothing.
Build an action
Create an action, choose what triggers it, and add an OBS reaction. Your scenes and sources appear in the list.
Pick what it does
Switch to a scene and stay, switch for the action's duration and back, show a source for that time, or run a command.

Is TikTok LIVE OBS control free?
Yes. OBS scene and source control is on the free plan, and each OBS step is part of one of your 5 Actions & Events. The Creator plan ($9.99 a month) removes that limit.
Do I need the desktop app to control OBS from TikTok LIVE?
Not if OBS is on the same computer: the web dashboard can reach it as long as it stays open in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. To control OBS on a different computer, use the desktop app, because browsers block that connection.
Which version of OBS works with BetterTok?
OBS Studio 28 or newer. The WebSocket server is built into those versions, so there is no plugin to install.
Can a TikTok gift start a recording or save a clip in OBS?
Yes. An OBS reaction can start, stop or toggle recording, or save a replay clip. Clips need the replay buffer turned on in OBS first.
Does OBS control work with TikTok LIVE Studio or Streamlabs?
No. It is built for OBS Studio's own WebSocket server. Overlays are different: each one is a link you can add in TikTok LIVE Studio or Streamlabs too.
Will my OBS scene switch back after a TikTok gift?
It can. Choose to switch for the action's duration and then back, and set the duration on the action. Choose to switch and stay if you want it to stick.
