What is Streamer.bot for TikTok LIVE?

Streamer.bot is a stream automation app that runs on your PC. BetterTok connects to its WebSocket server and runs its actions from your TikTok LIVE events, so what you have already built there can react to TikTok gifts and chat.

The action receives the event's details as arguments: the viewer's username and nickname, the gift and its coins, the comment and any command text. Inside Streamer.bot you read them as usual, such as %username% and %giftName%. You can add arguments of your own on each action too.

BetterTok reaches Streamer.bot from your dashboard or the desktop app, so one of them has to be open while you stream, with Streamer.bot running. Streamer.bot is a separate app you install yourself.

How to connect Streamer.bot to TikTok LIVE

  1. Turn on the WebSocket server in Streamer.bot

In Streamer.bot, open the Servers/Clients tab, then WebSocket Server, and start it. The default port is 8080.

  2. Connect it to BetterTok

In the web dashboard, open Actions, then the Integrations tab. In the desktop app, open Actions, then the Streamer.bot tab. Enter the host, port and endpoint, add the password if you set one, press Save, then press Connect.

  3. Build an action

Create an action, choose what triggers it, and add a Streamer.bot reaction.

  4. Pick your Streamer.bot action

The list comes from your Streamer.bot. Press Test fire to run it right away.

  5. Add arguments if you need them

Add custom key and value pairs, and they arrive alongside the event's own details.

What your Streamer.bot action receives

Argument names as your action sees them, on the events that have them:

  • username, nickname and uniqueId
  • profilePictureUrl
  • comment, message and commandParams on chat
  • giftName, giftId, coins and repeatCount on gifts
  • likeCount and totalLikeCount on likes
  • subMonth, totalMonths and subscribeType on subscriptions
  • Any custom arguments you add

More BetterTok integrations

BetterTok also works with a Stream Deck plugin, smart lights and plugs, Voicemod, OBS control and Spotify and Apple Music song requests. Lights, Voicemod, OBS and Streamer.bot can all be steps of one Actions & Events rule, so a single gift can set off all of them.

Streamer.bot for TikTok LIVE: FAQ

Is the Streamer.bot connection free on BetterTok?

Yes. A Streamer.bot step is part of an action, and a free account has 5 Actions & Events. The Creator plan ($9.99 a month) removes that limit. Streamer.bot itself is a separate app.

Do I need the desktop app to use Streamer.bot with TikTok LIVE?

No. The web dashboard can connect as long as it stays open in Chrome, Edge or Firefox. The desktop app works too.

Which TikTok LIVE events can run a Streamer.bot action?

Anything that can trigger an action in BetterTok: gifts, follows, shares, likes, comments, chat keywords, subscriptions, battles, polls and more. A Stream Deck key does not run the Streamer.bot step of an action.

What does Streamer.bot receive when someone sends a TikTok gift?

The viewer's username and nickname, plus giftName, giftId, coins and repeatCount, along with any custom arguments you added to the action.

Does BetterTok need a password for Streamer.bot?

Only if you set one on Streamer.bot's WebSocket server. Enter the same password in the Streamer.bot panel in BetterTok.

What if I rebuild or re-import my Streamer.bot actions?

BetterTok saves the action's name along with its ID, so an action that got a new ID when you re-imported it is still found by its name.
