TikTok Shop's LIVE Giveaway or a stream giveaway?
They are two different things. TikTok Shop's LIVE Giveaway is a sweepstake inside TikTok Shop: a seller or creator sets the prize, and viewers enter by following, commenting or watching. The Giveaways and Promotions Policy says giveaways there must use that feature, so on a Shop LIVE, use TikTok's tool and not this one.
A stream giveaway is the kind you run yourself on any TikTok LIVE, for a prize you hand over yourself. BetterTok does the part that is hard to do by hand with a busy chat: it collects the entries as they come in and picks one at random.
Entry is one word in chat. It costs viewers nothing, and the form has no gift requirement. It runs from your dashboard, with no plan limit and no limit on how many you run.
What you set
A keyword is all you need. Everything else is optional.
Entry keyword
Viewers type this exact word. Capitals don't matter: JOIN, join and Join all count.
Timer
1, 2, 5, 10, 15 or 30 minutes, any number you type, or Manual. When time runs out, the winner draws itself.
Max entries
Close entries at a number you choose, or leave it unlimited.
Min messages
Ask for a number of chat messages first, so entries come from people who are really talking.
Followers only
Require Follow keeps entries to your followers. Leave the dashboard or the desktop app open while it runs.
One viewer, one chance
The draw picks from one entry per viewer, so typing the word ten times adds no odds.

How to run a giveaway on TikTok LIVE
No overlay and no OBS needed. It all happens in your dashboard.
Go LIVE first
Giveaways can only be created and run while you are live. Start your stream, then open Giveaways in your dashboard.
Set your keyword
Under Create New, type the Entry Keyword. The title is optional and gets a number if you leave it blank.
Set the timer and the rules
Pick a duration, or Manual to draw when you decide. Add Max Entries, Min Messages or Require Follow if you want them.
Press Create & Start
It opens straight away. Entries appear on your screen as viewers type the word, and you can search the list.
Tell your viewers
Say the word, the prize, who can enter and when it closes. Say it again for people who join late.
Get your winner
When the timer ends, BetterTok draws. Press Select Winner to draw sooner. The winner's name and photo appear for you to read out.
A giveaway adds nothing to your video by itself. For a clock viewers can see, add a countdown timer overlay.
Run a giveaway people trust
The draw is fair by itself. The rest is on you:
- Say what the prize is and how you will deliver it
- Say who can enter and when it closes
- Keep entry free: never tie a chance to a gift
- Draw while you are live, so everyone sees it
- Check the prize is allowed where you and your viewers live
- Send the prize when you said you would
TikTok's LIVE Monetization Guidelines treat attempts to manipulate engagement or monetization features as ineligible, so don't trade entries for gifts. Giveaway rules also differ by country. BetterTok picks the winner. It does not review your giveaway, so checking the rules is your call.
After the draw
Every finished giveaway stays in History with its keyword, entry count and winner, and Recent Winners keeps the last names close by. Need to run it again? Restart clears the entries and starts over, so the same giveaway can go again with a clean list.
BetterTok never holds or sends a prize. Sorting that out with your winner is up to you, so tell them how to reach you before you end the LIVE.

Yes. A giveaway can only be created and run while you are live, because entries come from your LIVE chat.
Can I run a giveaway for followers only?
Yes. Turn on Require Follow. Keep your BetterTok dashboard or the desktop app open while it runs, because that is where a viewer's follow status is checked.
Does the giveaway show on my stream?
No. It runs in your dashboard, where you see the entries and the winner. Read the winner out on stream, and add a timer overlay if you want a clock on screen.
