What are sound alerts for streaming?

Sound alerts are audio notifications that play during your stream when specific events happen, like receiving a gift, gaining a follower, or getting a share. They help acknowledge viewer interactions and create an engaging atmosphere.

How do I add sound alerts to OBS?

Set up your sounds and triggers in the BetterTok dashboard. Alerts play from the dashboard or the BetterTok desktop app, so keep it open while you stream and capture your computer's audio in OBS.

Can I use custom sounds for alerts?

Yes! BetterTok allows you to upload your own MP3 or WAV files as custom alert sounds. You can set different sounds for different gift values, follows, shares, and other events. Each sound can be up to 15 MB.

Are sound alerts free?

Yes. The free plan includes 5 sound alerts with your own sounds or sounds from our library. The Creator plan unlocks unlimited sound alerts.

Can different gifts trigger different sounds?

Absolutely! You can assign unique sounds to different TikTok gifts. For example, a Rose might play a gentle chime, while a Galaxy plays an epic celebration sound. This creates variety and encourages viewers to send different gifts.

How do I prevent sound alert spam?

BetterTok includes cooldown settings to prevent alert spam. You can set a minimum time between alerts, queue alerts to play one after another, or set minimum gift values required to trigger sounds.

Do sound alerts work with TikTok Live Studio?

Yes. Sound alerts play from the BetterTok dashboard or desktop app, so they work with TikTok LIVE Studio, OBS, Streamlabs and any streaming app that captures your computer's audio.
