What is the TikTok LIVE Stream Deck plugin?
The BetterTok Stream Deck plugin adds a Bettertok category to the Stream Deck app. Each entry in it is an action you drag onto a key: 23 in all, from a soundboard button to live auction controls to Spotify playback.
Everything on a key can also be done from the dashboard. A key just needs no window. You stay in your game or your conversation with chat while you start a round, or stop a sound that went wrong. Toggle keys show whether text-to-speech, sounds, song requests and actions are on, and they stay in step with the dashboard.
The plugin pairs with your BetterTok account, not with a program on your PC, so it works with the web dashboard or the desktop app. Overlay keys act on the overlays open in OBS on your active profile. Sound keys play wherever your stream audio runs.
What the keys do
Some keys have a dropdown in the Stream Deck app, so you choose which action, sound, wheel or goal they control.
Trigger actions
Fire any action you have built, from an alert to an OBS scene change. Another key pauses all of them.
A soundboard
Play Sound Alert turns any sound alert into a button. Toggle Sounds mutes or unmutes all of them.
Text to speech
Toggle TTS switches readouts on or off. Speak Text says a phrase you wrote, on stream, through your Actions overlay.
Live auction controls
Start a round, reset it, pause it, and add or remove 30 seconds. The auction overlay itself needs the Creator plan.
Timer
Start, pause, restart or reset your timer overlay, or add and subtract time, in the amounts you set on the key.
Goals and counters
Add to, subtract from, set or reset a custom goal. Other keys reset the coin jar, Heart Me and gift challenges.
Spin the wheel
Spin a Wheel of Actions without waiting for a gift. The wheel overlay needs the Creator plan.
Spotify and song requests
Play, pause, skip and go back on Spotify, and switch the !play and !skip chat commands on or off. Spotify keys need Spotify Premium and a linked account.
How to set up the Stream Deck plugin
Download the plugin
Sign in to BetterTok, open the Stream Deck page in the dashboard or the desktop app, and download the plugin file.
Double-click the file
The Stream Deck app installs it and adds a Bettertok category to its list of actions.
Drag Connect Bettertok onto a key
This is the key that links the deck to your account.
Enter the 6-digit code
Generate a code on the Stream Deck page, then enter it in that key's settings in the Stream Deck app.
Add the keys you want
Drag any other action onto a key, and pick what it controls where it asks.

Is the TikTok LIVE Stream Deck plugin free?
Yes. The plugin is on the free plan. Keys still follow your plan: the live auction and wheel overlays need the Creator plan ($9.99 a month), and a free account has 5 Actions & Events for its keys to fire.
Do I need the desktop app to use a Stream Deck with TikTok LIVE?
No. The plugin pairs with your account and works with the web dashboard or the desktop app. Keep one of them open while you stream: sound alerts and chat readouts play from there, and so do the OBS and Voicemod steps of an action. Smart lights, and Spotify if you connected it in the desktop app, need the app running.
Which Stream Deck models work with BetterTok?
Elgato decks with keys, on Windows 10 or macOS 12 and newer with the Stream Deck app 6.5 or newer. The actions are for keys only, so the dials on a Stream Deck + have none. FIFINE, Ajazz, Ulanzi and MiraBox decks that run Stream Dock software work too: they get a zip you extract into the plugins folder.
Is the BetterTok plugin on the Elgato Marketplace?
Not yet. You download it from the Stream Deck page in your BetterTok dashboard or desktop app. That page also shows when a paired deck has an older version of the plugin.
Can a Stream Deck key switch my OBS scene?
Yes, through an action. Build an action that switches the scene, then point a Trigger Action key at it. The same works for most things an action can do, such as a Voicemod voice or a smart light. Streamer.bot steps are the exception: they run from live events, not from a key.
Can I use more than one Stream Deck on the same account?
Yes. Pair each deck with its own code. The Stream Deck page lists every deck and when it was last seen, and you can rename or remove each one there.
