How Much Is a Galaxy on TikTok?

By BetterTok Updated

A Galaxy is 1,000 coins. Bought on TikTok's website that comes to about $10.50, and in the app about $15, depending on your coin package and country. Going by what TikTok said in 2022, a creator sees half of the website price at the very most. TikTok publishes no figure per gift, and estimates run from about $2.50 to about $5.25 before any fees.

What you need

  • To send a Galaxy: 1,000 coins in your balance, on an account aged 18 or over (or your local age of majority, if older)
  • To count Galaxies on stream: a BetterTok account, free to start, plus LIVE Studio or OBS on a computer

What a Galaxy costs

In the gift panel a Galaxy costs 1,000 coins, the same as 1,000 Roses and about a thirtieth of a Lion. The money depends on where the coins come from:

  • On TikTok's website: about $10.30 to $10.60, and you can type in exactly 1,000 coins as a custom amount.
  • In the app: about $14.30 to $15.30, depending on the coin package. Apple's US listing showed no 1,000-coin package. The nearest were 660 coins for $9.99 and 1,120 coins for $16.99, so you either buy two packages or keep the leftover coins.

We checked these approximate US prices in October and November 2026. In another country, the Recharge screen shows your own price.

Why the creator's share is quoted at $2.50, $5 and $7.50

Search results disagree about what a Galaxy pays, and the reason is how each one does the sum. TikTok does not publish a payout per gift, so all of these are estimates:

  • About $7.50 is half the app price. It leaves out the app store's cut, and TikTok said in 2022 that its 50% share comes after app-store and payment costs. So this one looks too high.
  • About $5.25 is half the website price, and also roughly half the app price once a 30% store cut comes off. Treat it as the most a creator could see, before payment costs.
  • About $2.50 comes from creator calculators that count a Galaxy as about 500 Diamonds, at about $0.005 a Diamond. TikTok confirms neither number.

TikTok's Rewards Policy also says it weighs other things when deciding a LIVE payment, so two creators may not see the same result from the same gift. How TikTok gift earnings work has the full path from coins to cash.

How to count Galaxies on your LIVE

A target such as 10 Galaxies gives viewers something to watch fill up. BetterTok calls this a gift challenge, and it counts one gift only.

  1. Open Gift Counter

Open Overlays in the sidebar, choose Gift Counter from the menu and press New challenge.

  2. Set the gift and the number

In the challenge's Settings, choose the Galaxy as the Target gift, and set a Target you can reach this LIVE.

  3. Decide how it ends

Pick what happens under When the target is reached.

  4. Put it on your stream

Press Copy link on the challenge's card. Add it as a Link source in TikTok LIVE Studio, or a Browser source in OBS.

  5. Check it on a real LIVE

A gift challenge only moves on real LIVE events, so Event Simulator will not fill it. Watch it the next time you go LIVE.

Gifts a Galaxy is easy to mix up with

  • Galaxy's Bestest: 300 coins
  • Go Galaxy: 500 coins
  • Galaxy Globe: 1,500 coins in our catalog, in some regions

The Magic Lamp and Watermelon Love cost the same 1,000 coins, and Fireworks costs a little more at 1,088. A TikTok Universe is a far bigger gift, at 44,999. Prices are from TikTok's gift list on 5 November 2026, and your panel may differ by region.

Let the counter do the asking

With a target on screen, you do not need to keep mentioning it. TikTok's LIVE Monetization Guidelines say mechanical, repeated requests for Gifts can cost a LIVE its monetization.
