To add a spin wheel to TikTok LIVE you need a wheel overlay: TikTok's help pages list built-in widgets for alerts, chat, goals, rankings and countdowns, and no wheel. In BetterTok, open Wheel of Actions, write your segments, choose what spins it, and add the overlay's link to TikTok LIVE Studio as a Link source or OBS as a Browser source. It needs the Creator plan.
What you need
- The BetterTok Creator plan ($9.99 a month or $99.99 a year)
- TikTok LIVE Studio or OBS on a computer
- A list of outcomes: six to eight is plenty
Build your wheel
Open Wheel of Actions
Open Overlays in the sidebar, choose Wheel of Actions and pick a theme.
Write your segments
Add a segment for each outcome and give it a label and a colour. Untick a segment to leave it out of the spin without deleting it.
Attach what each segment does
Pick an action for a segment to run when the wheel lands on it, or make a new action right there. Choose No action (display only) for outcomes you act out yourself.
Set the odds
Every slice is equally likely, so give a common outcome several slices and the best one a single slice.
Choose what spins it
Under Trigger, pick what starts a spin: Any Gift, Specific Gift, Gift ≥ Coins, Follow, Share, Subscribe, Likes, Chat Keyword and more. Turn on Spin with points to let viewers spend their points on a spin with a command such as !spin.
Add it to your stream
Press the copy button at the top of the editor to copy the overlay's link. Add it as a Link source in LIVE Studio or a Browser source in OBS, then size and drag the source to where you want the wheel.
Test a spin
Press Test spin. It spins this wheel on stream and runs the action it lands on, so you can check your sound and scene changes before a viewer does.
Making a wheel people want to spin
- Keep it readable. Six to eight segments is plenty on a phone screen.
- Avoid empty outcomes. A viewer who paid for a spin and got nothing rarely spins again, so make the worst result small rather than empty.
- Keep the top prize rare but reachable: give it one slice.
- Use Hide until it spins if you want the wheel off screen between spins.
Keep your segments within TikTok's rules
A dare wheel is fun until a dare is the problem. TikTok's LIVE Monetization Guidelines say content may lose monetization if it shows dangerous stunts, dares or challenges, conduct meant to humiliate you or someone else, or excessive eating or drinking. Stick to segments such as a song, a voice, a scene change or a silly hat, and say what the spin does before you ask for one.
Want one winner instead?
The Wheel of Actions runs one result per spin. If viewers should join a draw and be knocked out until one is left, that is Spin Royale. To let gifts fill something rather than spin something, set up a gift goal.
Frequently asked questions
Can I show a spin wheel on TikTok LIVE on the free plan?
No. The Wheel of Actions needs the Creator plan ($9.99 a month or $99.99 a year), and a free account's wheel link shows an upgrade card instead of the wheel. Your BetterTok account itself is free.
Can viewers spin the wheel from chat?
Yes, in two ways. Set the Trigger to Chat Keyword and any viewer who types it spins the wheel. Or turn on Spin with points, so viewers spend points with a command such as !spin. That one needs Points switched on.
Can I make one wheel outcome rarer than the others?
Yes, by how many slices you give it. Every slice is equally likely, so an outcome on three slices comes up three times as often as one on a single slice.
Can I run more than one wheel?
Yes. Each wheel has its own name, segments and trigger, and you can duplicate one to start another from it.
Does the wheel work in TikTok LIVE Studio?
Yes. Paste the overlay's link into a Link source, or into a Browser source in OBS. The wheel is drawn by your streaming software, so it does not show on a phone-only LIVE.
